Garmin GPSMap 440 Chartplotter GPS W/Ocean Shoreline
Garmin comes to the aid of shoreline fisherman and seafaers with the Garmin 440. The unit comes with preloaded maps of U.S. coastal maps including Alaska and Hawaii. Some units have maps of the Bahamas and it has an SD slot to add more. The 4-inch diagonal QVGA display has an anti-glare surface enabling users to navigate in bright sun. It uses satellite technology which enables access to world-wide base maps. Optional feature BlueChart 2g card gives a fish eye view above and below water line. Retails $499 to $650 with some retailers offering mail in rebates up to $100.
