Here you have it, nearly identical home theater systems. The Sony Bravia DAVHDX576WF Home Theater with 1000-watts and the Panasonic SC-PT760 Home Theater System with 1250-watts. Both systems have a 5-disc upconvert DVD-CD player with an iPod dock, FM-tuner, wireless rear speakers, subwoofer, tower-type speakers and an easy link for hooking up the system. Both systems have Dolby Digital Sound, Dolby Pro-Logic II. Progressive scan and a series of input/output connections including HDMI. Both have second room audio capabilities. Both include a remote control. There are a few apparent differences between the two models. Panasonic PT960 offers a volume/sound adjustment for the bamboo material constructed subwoofer, the ability to transfer HD content via LAN, magnetic shield for reducing external component interference, Energy Star compliant and HDD ripping feature. It can be purchased generally in the $300 range. The Sony Bravia DAVHDX576WF has 5.1-channel Dolby Digital Sound technology with a Bravia link for hooking up a Sony HDTV. It has the ability to connect up Bluetooth, an extraordinary one button connect remote and the S-Air technology is a cool function. It retails for $500, but almost all the big stores have it on sale for $429. Anyone venture a guess on which system I should buy.
