I have a slew of VHS tapes sitting around and a brand new HDTV. I want a combo player that will let me play both VHS and DVD with an upconversion feature. I found the Sony RDRVX560 with all the features I wanted. It has an HDMI connection for my HDTV. I can upscale 480p content to 1080p by using the HDMI. The model has a One Touch Dubbing for preserving my VHS to DVD and vice-versa. According to Sony I can record my video and pictures from my digital camcorder directly to a DVD by simply pushing the easy USB One Touch Dubbing button. It has Bravia Sync. That's cool because I have a Sony Bravia HDTV. It has a cable box and satellite receiver control through the IR blaster.
I can play and record DVD+RW/+RW,-RW-R video and DVD-RAM playback. I can play and record DVD+RW Double-layer up to 8.5 GB capacity. I can also play JPEG and MP3 formats. It has virtual surround sound for DVD using TV speakers. The model comes with a pretty nice remote. It has so many input/outputs I am not going to list all of them. The model has a S-video, coaxial audio digital output, composite video in/out, USB port, iLink for DVDigital audio in/out, RCA audio in/out and as I mentioned an HDMI output. The HDMI cable isn't included. The amazing part is the price, I found it for $229.
