I saw the JVC GZ HD5 Everio Hybrid HDD HD camcorder with a 60 GB hard drive and a memory card slot and I went wild. It has a 10x optical zoom with the ability to adjust the shutter speed up to 1/4000 of a second. The minimum shutter speed is 1/2 second. It captures true HD video and it will shoot still images. I love the feel of the JVC GZ HDS Everio. It fits in the palm of a medium size hand and weighs only 16.9-ounces. The idea of no tapes and the ability to video directly to a 60 GB hard drive is fantastic. If I feel like using an SD card for some small project this model gives me the option. The built-in microphone is excellent with noise cancellation. I really do not hear any street noise when I videotape. I can also say the still images are totally incredible. I tried it out for about one-hour at the store. The 2.8-inch display/viewfinder is excellent. The price is around $1200. Does anyone have any other similar camcorders in mind that might save me some money.
