I'm considering the Panasonic SC-PT960, however I have a question on input connections. I've checked online, but can't seem to find a direct answer. Will I be able to route sound from other components (XBox, Playstation, etc.) through the Panasonic SC-Pt960? It seems the only input connection is a digital audio.
You're right. It only has one Optical Digital Input. It means you can only connect one device to it. You need a receiver to connect all your stuff. Basically, it'll look like this: you connect everything to a receiver, it depends on an exact model, but they usually have a lot of input connections. Then you also connect your speakers to the receiver. And that's it. I have a Pioneer receiver, I bought it about 3 years ago for $350 and it's still good for my needs.
