The red stylishly etched-designed Lenovo U110 IdeaPad is about ready to hit the U.S. market.
According to the official Lenovo web site, the unique 2.3-pound, 11.1-inch will be released as soon as the FCC signs off on the paperwork. The Lenovo U110 is the smallest of the IdeaPad line introduced during CES 2008.
The unique aspect of this U110 is the inclusion of the Intel Core 2 Duo ULV with 1.6GHz speed. It is a state-of-the art laptop that will compete with the Macbook Air and other high-end laptops. It is expected to sell for less than $2,000.
The Lenovo U110 has 3 GB RAM and a 160 GB hard drive with three USB ports, Bluetooth, wireless 802.11a/g/n and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. It also has a face detection system.
The frame-less Lenovo U110 takes security up a notch by adding Veriface. The user enrolls his or her face and this becomes the key to access. It scans facial features in order to grant access to the computer. If there is an interloper the Veriface will snap a picture and store it for you.
There is support for a solid state drive. One should expect faster downloads and increased battery life in the U110 model. The included Dolby Digital Sound provides rich sounds with the ability to add components via one of the USB ports.
The Lenovo U110 comes preloaded with Vista and other trial software. The visual appeal of the artsy light-weight Lenovo U110 may be a representation of the Yin-Yang duality. The U110 is certainly an example of dynamic equilibrium. Extreme functionality with grace and beauty.
