Samsung Electronics expands its Blu-ray lineup and delivers even more consumer value with the HT-BD2E Blu-ray Home Theater System. Joining the already available Samsung HT-BD2T and HT-BD2S systems, the new HT-BD2E brings together the impressive feature set and sleek design of its sibling systems with a more user-friendly 5.1-Channel structure that allows for increased versatility and installment flexibility.

“The HT-BD2E was developed to deliver an incredible theater-like experience, in a package that is easy to use and install, and has a luxurious design perfect for most any room," said Reid Sullivan, Vice President of Digital Audio / Video Marketing at Samsung Electronics America. "Whether the consumer is just getting started in the world of Blu-ray, or is looking for a potent all-in-one audio and video solution, the HT-BD2E represents one of the top values available today.”

Comprised of four satellite speakers, an expanded center channel for more accurate dialogue reproduction, and a passive subwoofer, the HT-BD2E emphasizes Samsung's dedication to helping consumers create a home entertainment center that seamlessly blends functionality, audio and video quality, and connectivity. The HT-BD2E’s glossy piano black components look the part and flawlessly pair with any Samsung HDTV, while 800 watts of total power combined with HD soundtrack support, including Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, dts-HD, will satisfy the high standards of movie-goers and audio aficionados alike.

The HT-BD2E provides Full HD 1080p video playback from the latest Blu-ray Discs to deliver the highest levels of detail and clarity, while standard DVDs can be upconverted to near HD quality, rejuvenating any collection. The latest components can be easily linked to the HT-BD2E via an HDMI output, which includes CEC (Anynet+) functionality for management and control of connected devices using a single remote, and an Ethernet port allows users to keep their system updated with the latest interactivity features and support.

The HT-BD2E will be available in August with an estimated selling price of $799.
