A buzz of rumors about Palm's new Treo may have come to rest. For weeks speculation about the yet to be formally introduced new Palm Treo have circulated. An unexpected phantom communication from inside the nerve center of Palm may have put an end to the rumor mill. Apparently, the previous rumor that the new device will be called the Treo 850 is wrong. Instead, the new device in all likelihood will be named Treo Pro By Palm.

The Treo Pro will probably run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and according to the phantom generated pictures it will have a dedicated WiFi button. The model has a micro-SD slot and a 2.0 MP digital camera. It also has a 3.5 mm audio jack and that it will in all likelihood run on GSM. EDGE and UMTS HSDPA 3.6 networks. According to WMExperts and Gizmondo, the exact specs have not been confirmed by Palm.

The sharp looking Treo Pro has a really fine 2.4-inch touchscreen display, 5-way navigation with a center button control and a ergonomically designed full QWERTY keyboard. It looks similar to other Palm Treo models. It is a little sharper and sleeker than other models. Otherwise, it features all of the easy buttons and some speculate it will be launched with T-Mobile or AT&T's 3G GSM network.

It is a nifty additional to the long line of Palm products. If in fact, it does have WiFi 802.11b/g and 3G network capacity and it is priced right, BlackBerry may have some competition. The Palm Centro has been wildly popular and the Facebook for Palm has met with enthusiasm by users. The Facebook download is available on the Palm website or it can downloaded directly to your Palm smartphone by typing into your browser mobile.palm.com/facebook.

This new application will be available on the new Treo Pro when it is released. The price and release date have not been officially released as of this writing. Sure looks good and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it.
