Pros:
A total gas. It took about an hour to hook up the speakers, program the remote while reading the manual. After it was set up and up and running, it has been a dyno-mite system. Really versatile with DVD upconversion, CD player, iPod dock, Am/FM tuner and really good sound. Outstanding buy at $250.
Cons:
A couple of quirks in the set-up, but not major. Remote isn't as easy as it could be.
Overall impression:
Outstanding low-cost 5.1-channel home theater system. Lots of connectivity including HDMI, S-video, component/composite and USB port. Also, ready for your iPod, (check on model compatibility).
A really good value for 5-speaker system with DVD upconversion, CD player and AM/FM player.

Pros:
Philips includes loads of connectivity. An USB port, S-video, HDMI and component/composite video and audio. The iPod dock is another big feature. Includes a DVD upconversion for HD video content. A CD player and AM/FM tuner. Have a Karaoke party or just party with yourself with headphones. The IR remote is easy and works great. A 1000-watts of power for less than $250.
Cons:
A couple of FM stations seem to float a bit.
Overall impression:
I love this home theater system. It fit my budget and it gives me everything I want. I can take standard DVD formats and upconvert them to 720p or 1080i or watch HD 1080p content. The speakers will blast out a thousand watts of power and shake the room. The CD player and iPod dock round out a very good system for the money.

Pros:
Unreal value for 1000-watt system with five speakers, HDMI, USB and DVD upconversion, CD player and AM/FM tuner. Remote included and iPod docking station. Great sound and costs less than $250.
Cons:
For the price, absolutely no grievances. Set up is a little tricky--read the manual.
Overall impression:
The price, style and overall usefulness of the Philips HTS 3565 is unmatched. View full 1080p or 1080i formats using upconversion DVD player. Good sound and picture quality. Five speakers with a total of 1000-watts of power. An iPod docking station, great sound and a remote is included. Surround sound with 5.1-channel and AM/FM tuner. Looks good and priced right.
