The Canon EOS-IDS Mark III is a SLR camera for professionals. Combined with discounts, and favors due me, it still cost around $8,000. The digital compatible lenses are not included in the purchase price. There is a video cable, USB cable, lens cap and neck strap. The selling feature any professional looks for in a SLR is sturdiness and pristine pictures. This SLR camera is ready for any camera shoot.

The Canon EOS-IDS Mark III has a 21.1 megapixel resolution with a 21.1 megapixel CMOS sensor resolution. The light resolutions are ISO 50, 3200 and 100-1600. It has a maximum 1/8000 second shutter speed. The minimum shutter speed is 30 seconds.

The canon technology is above standard. The Canon EOS-IDS has a dust reduction feature and an EOS integrated cleaning system. There is a choice of white balance settings. The auto works well, but I prefer the custom setting. There are various choices of preset white balance modes.

The exposure compensation has a range of choices and options. This feature operates on a + 3 EV range to incremental ranges of 1/2 to 1/3 EV. There is a three frames per second and five frames per second continuous shooting mode.

The camera will shoot RAW, JPEG 5616 X 3744 and about every useful combination a photographer would need. There is a memory slot that will accommodate CompactFlash, Multi-Media card and SD cards.

After doing some wrangling with friends in the lens business I was able to include digital zoom lenses and a fish-eye lens for less than $2,000. In all, I have what I consider is the best SLR on the market. If you are a professional photographer consider this model before you buy.
