The finishing touch to my all Sony Bravia home entertainment system. I shopped around after purchasing my big screen Sony HDTV for speakers and an upconvert player. The Sony Bravia DAVHDX576WF fit the bill and more. If I had purchased the items separately it would have cost me at least $300 more. I got the whole system for $500. A great price and the set up was exceptionally simple. All you need to do is follow the step by step instructions provided by Sony.

Best Features:

My first criteria was a home theater system with at least 1,000 watts of power. This unit has five speakers with 143-watts of power each. The passive subwoofer has 285 watts of power. When this system is powered up it delivers rich mid-level sounds impressively. When it is cranked up to full volume, it will rock the house. The passive subwoofer does a fine job turning out rich bass tones. The second room audio is another sought after feature.

The equally important feature for my purposes is the 5-Disc capacity of the upconvert CD/DVD player. I can load up five discs and select the mode of play and forget about it. The other great feature is to convert standard video formats via the HDMI output to an approximation of 1080p. It can convert programming to beautiful 720p or 1080i. The only criticism here is the inability to run Blu-ray formats.

The Bravia Sync allows me to coordinate all of the components with the touch of one button on the remote. I like the remote because it is easy to use and navigate. The one-touch feature makes it even better.

There is one component video, and one headphone jack output. In addition, there is one A/V, one component, one optical digital, one coaxial digital audio, and two stereo inputs. This is enough to keep any audio/visual fan pretty happy.

The internal technology offered by Sony is outstanding. There is progressive scan, Dolby digital decoder Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound and more which delivers crisp-clear sounds.

The system is compatible with a Bluetooth interface and the iPod docking station is icing on the cake. While I do not listen to a great deal of FM radio, I tried it out and the music and sports programs come in clear as a bell.

The Bravia DAVHDX576WF comes with a remote, iPod cradle, wireless rear speaker kit, Air station and user's guide. You will need to purchase a HDMI cable.

I recommend it to everyone looking for an all encompassing home theater system.
