I am a gadget junkie. I work in the computer field and like many of my colleagues I scan the trade shows and magazines for unique items. The VT-100 is a totally cool gadget. It is designed to appeal to the eye and it is useful. The device has three functions. It will backup all your files on your mobile phone and other devices while it is charging. This feature alone is worthwhile. My biggest dread is the files on my smartphone will go missing. It is a good value, priced in the $30 range.

The VT-100 is compatible with Samsung, Blackberry, Sony Ericsson and Nokia mobile devices. It is also a mobile charger that will provide emergency power in case you underestimate your battery level. As a charger it compatible with other devices like digital cameras, PMPs and other gadgets.

The VT-100 can be used as a reader for SD/MMC cards. This is really convenient if you have a collection of SD cards. Sometimes, I simply want to look at one of my indexed SD cards and don't want to use my mobile phone or other components. I can simply use the VT-100 to check out the content of my huge collection of SD cards.

In the box you will find a USB cable. The instructions are easy. All you need to do is plug one end of the cable to the VT-100 and the other end to your PC USB port. You turn on the backup function and forget it. It automatically charges the device as it backups all your files.

Also, you will find a disc that essentially is the set-up for the device. It has a folder called MRTECH. Inside the folder are two documents. One is called SIM.MR and PHONE.MR. These files are the guts of the programming for the device. These two files record the data separately for the SIM and phone.

The entire set-up and use is intuitive. There are instructions, but I doubt you will need them. It works and I have not noted any glitches. Make sure your mobile phone is compatible. That would be the only problem you may encounter.

For the color and design conscious, the VT-100 comes in really cool colors. It comes in pink, aqua, lime green and black. It is light and very portable. I recommend this device to everyone.
